1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using the Haraki mobile application and related services (the “Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
Haraki is a marketplace that connects customers in Uganda with verified service providers for household and personal tasks, including:
- Home repairs and maintenance
- Cleaning services
- Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting
- Delivery, gardening, security, solar and generator servicing
- Tech repair, tailoring, water tank installation and related trades
3. User accounts
3.1 Registration
To use the Service you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information.
3.2 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
3.3 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
4. Service provider verification
4.1 Background checks
All service providers undergo identity verification, skill assessment, and, where applicable, background checks.
4.2 Ongoing monitoring
We continuously monitor provider performance through customer feedback and quality reviews.
4.3 No guarantee
While we take extensive measures to verify providers, Haraki cannot guarantee the quality or outcome of services performed.
5. Booking and payment
5.1 Booking process
Customers book services by selecting available providers and specifying requirements through the app.
5.2 Payment
Payments are processed securely. Accepted methods include Mobile Money, cards, and, where enabled, cash. Funds may be held in escrow until the booking is completed.
5.3 Pricing
Service prices are set by providers and displayed transparently before you confirm a booking.
5.4 Cancellation
Bookings may be cancelled up to 2 hours before the scheduled time at no charge. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
6. User responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when booking services.
- Ensure providers have safe and reasonable access to perform requested work.
- Do not use the Service for illegal activity or in violation of local laws.
7. Privacy and data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We apply appropriate security measures and do not sell personal data to third parties.
8. Limitation of liability
8.1 Platform role
Haraki acts as a platform connecting customers and service providers. We are not a party to the service contract and are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of work performed.
8.2 Maximum liability
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid through the platform for the specific service in question.
8.3 Indirect damages
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Dispute resolution
We provide customer support to help resolve disputes between customers and providers. Serious disputes may be subject to mediation before legal action. These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or through the account deletion page. We may terminate or suspend accounts for violations of these terms, fraud, or safety concerns.
11. Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
